Connie Dines

Bio: Growing up in a family of artists seeing paintings seeming to magically appear on canvas, the thrill of seeing something I’d created appear in print was so powerful that I knew I had finally found my medium as an artist.  Now that I’ve taken my first 70,000 photos I see that I still have a long way to go!  Working with a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, Jay Dickman, helps bring those skills along with ruthless editing and demanding expectations. 

I would say that I am self-taught but I don’t think that would be truthful.  Too many amazing professionals have taken time to teach me during the countless workshops I’ve produced for FirstLight Workshops.  Constantly striving to improve my technique, I try to use as little manipulation as possible, adhering to the principles of “get it right in the camera” rather than trying to fix it in the computer. 

All of my work is registered and I produce limited editions of prints though there may be small format prints of all works as cards, notebooks and calendars.  All owners of my work are encouraged to contact me to be listed on the registry.
